Southern Arizona Rabbit Rescue
The Southern Arizona Rabbit Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer-run, no-kill domestic rabbit rescue and adoption agency serving Tucson and greater Southern Arizona. We are currently pursuing 501(c)(3) federal tax-exempt status.
Our mission is to advocate rabbit welfare. We believe that rabbits should be companion animals only, and we promote spay/neuter as a means to control the problem of rabbit overpopulation.
Please join us at our next meeting, to be held at 6:00 pm on August 21, 2007 at Lovin’ Spoonfuls. FREE brownies will be served!

Public services
Rescues
We welcome your questions about the care and welfare of rabbits. However, in most cases we cannot accept unwanted rabbits from the public. Instead, we are partnering with other animal welfare organizations to transfer rabbits surrendered to kill shelters into our foster home network. After dogs and cats, rabbits are the third-most surrendered pet to shelters. Rabbits are also one of the most abused, neglected, and abandoned of pets. If you are having difficulties caring for your rabbit, please contact us before deciding to surrender him/her. We’re here to help.
Adoptions
At this time we are still establishing the rescue and are not yet adopting rabbits to the public. Adoptions will begin when the rabbits in our foster home network have been spayed/neutered and are ready to join their loving “forever” homes. Your donation will help defray the costs of spay/neuter surgeries!
To be considered as a rabbit adopter, please submit an adoption application (PDF). You may also want to read our adoption contract (PDF). Contact us for more information.
